MO DIRT held a soil health survey training in Jefferson City hosted by the Soil and Water Conversation District, part of the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MoDNR).
MO DIRT manager, Sandra Arango-Caro, attended the 2019 Citizen Science Association Conference in Raleigh, NC. She gave a talk presenting the results from surveys completed by team leaders on their MO DIRT citizen science experience, their knowledge acquisiton and their changes in attitudes.
MO DIRT participated of the Future Trek: Greening Your Future STEM Careers Exploration program for middle schoolers hosted by the Academy of Science - St. Louis. During this event, students from the St. Louis region learned about soil science concepts, the importance of soil health and soil conservation actions.
Science teachers from the Maplewood - Richmond Heights District attended a soil health training. They teach in the Middle and High Schools. They will use a new protocol on soil aggregate stability that MO DIRT recently produced.
