First place for Monica Malone in the Honors Division Competition of the Academy of Science St. Louis Science Fair

Ladue High School Senior, Monica Malone, won first place in the Honors Division Competition of the Academy of Science St. Louis Science Fair on Saturday, Feb. 27 with the project “A study of microbial communities from till and no-till Missouri soils using genetic fingerprinting”. The honors division is a collegiate level research studies competition for Grades 9 – 12 by students enrolled in St. Louis City or St. Louis County schools.

Monica was awarded with $3,000 and is invited to represent St. Louis at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Phoenix, Arizona during May 8-13, 2016. The ISEF is the world’s largest international pre-college science competition.
